PSTEC, along with EFT and Hypnotherapy are proving to be key to changing mind-sets and enabling people to change habits, adopt healthier life-styles and step up in their own lives by creating shifts in thinking and belief systems.

As the co-writer of Achieve Your Natural Weight which explores using EFT, PSTEC and hypnotherapy to resolve and release the emotional/stress triggers leading to carrying excess weight and in turn, obesity often comes hand in hand with type 2 diabetes, or a diagnosis of pre-diabetes. I see so many clients now with this condition, to the degree that I, along with my colleague Liz Hogon, have built up a whole set of resources to assist clients dealing with this, and other, chronic conditions.

There’s a great quote in the book Sugar Nation written by Jeff O’Connell. He wrote,

“The truth is, by the time you have or even flirt with type 2 diabetes, there’s probably a lot more out of whack in your life than just blood sugar.”

In our own practices we are finding this to be the case and PSTEC, along with EFT and Hypnotherapy are proving to be key to changing mind-sets and enabling people to change habits, adopt healthier life-styles and step up in their own lives by creating shifts in thinking and belief systems.

In our work with clients dealing with chronic disease it is common for them to feel completely over-whelmed with the degree of medical intervention they face. So over-whelmed, in fact, that they often feel they have little, or no part to play, in living the best life they can live and this perceived powerlessness can keep a person stuck in a huge amount of negative thinking and feeling.

There are many emotions played out around serious illness that can get in the way of optimal health. There can be issues around deserving; massive self-blame; anger directed at self; long-buried anger at others; and huge amounts of frustration through to self-punishment, fear and self-sabotage. There are also, of course, secondary gains, however uncomfortable, to be explored and released along with allowing self-forgiveness and the development of self-worth and ultimately self love – all steps on the journey towards being, and living as well as one can.

Scientific evidence recognises that type 2 diabetes responds better to life style changes than the current drug regimes. However, that’s a big ask of someone who feels that they don’t count, may never have counted, or believes on some level that they don’t deserve to thrive. And that is the power of these tools and the wonderful nature of this work. Clearing the blocks so that you can feel more peaceful and relaxed about being you can have a profound and beneficial impact not just with diabetes but all illnesses are exacerbated, to a degree, by cortisol hormone, a by-product of adrenaline, which is triggered by stress.

So, what this post aims to share today is that whatever health concerns you have, and we all have some, use the free PSTEC click tracks to clear anything standing in your way to being the star in your own life. Take the time to gently explore any self-sabotaging behaviour; aspects of self-punishment; limiting beliefs; side-way activities of pleasing, or fixing others instead of focussing on you, and your needs, and so develop life-enhancing self-acceptance for who you are now – imperfectly perfect.

PSTEC was invented and developed in the UK by Tim Phizackerley. Tim is primarily a Hypnotherapist, and probably uniquely has a background in IT, working as he did specifically in the field of artificial intelligence.

He was conscious of the fact that the human mind is the product of evolutionary processes and, at it’s heart lies an organic computer.

And the one thing which absolutely all computers have in common is that they run programs. As Tim delved deeper into the mechanisms underlying hypnosis he recognised certain things about the interaction between the conscious and the subconscious mind that he believed could open the door to literally reprogramming the subconscious human ‘computer’ in new and innovative ways.

In his my work with clients he has been very systematic in finding solutions that work as efficiently as possible. He found that to do this one needed to have as good an understanding as possible of the ways in which people form concepts and process information.

The upshot of his unique focus has been that over many years of work he has developed a sophisticated model of the human mind and also the ways in which it processes and relates to information. Tim began applying what he knew about artificial intelligence and computer programming with working with clients to resolve their presenting issues.

The basic PSTEC system is a unique 11 minute interactive audio track which can be played to anyone to create a resolution for almost any problem related to unwanted emotions or feelings.

Whilst that may sound unlikely, PSTEC has been described as being possibly the fastest and most efficient way to neutralise problem emotions ever created.

In just the same way that Gary Craig, who developed EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) said Try it on Everything! PSTEC can be used successfully for a wide variety of applications from anxiety issues, phobias, through to weight loss work. In essence, it can be used on any emotional problem you want to be released from.

If you would like to down load the basic PSTEC tracks and try them for yourself then follow this link.

Following is a short list of some of the presenting issues that can be successfully treated with PSTEC

If conventional treatments have failed you, the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) announced in 2008 that hypnotherapy was an effective treatment for IBS, and specifically Chronic IBS when symptoms have persisted for over a year, or have not responded to pharmacological treatment.

NICE Recommendation

The NICE recommendation acknowledges that as well as a physical illness with very distressing and disruptive symptoms, IBS also has an emotional element. Every person who suffers with IBS has a unique experience of how the illness affects them and has an impact on their lives. It is a common experience that symptoms can flare up at times that correspond with an increase in stress or anxiety, or can be triggered by specific stressful events. Equally, IBS can be unpredictable with little or no obvious causal links. The irony is that periods of time when IBS symptoms lessen or abate are often overshadowed by fear and dread that the symptoms will suddenly return, creating a self-perpetuating cycle of stress and anxiety.

How we work together

I am a Registered Hypnotherapist with a practice in South London. Hypnotherapy works by by-passing the conscious mind to work directly with the sub-conscious. Working below conscious awareness hypnotherapy can work quickly to improve levels of day to day calmness as well as enabling a client to release long-held fear and stress. With hypnotherapy it is possible to influence the Amygdala, the emotional centre of the mind that controls the primitive fight or flight response. This powerful technique can in effect reset the brain’s habitual responses to pain, emotion, stress and fear, all recognised as playing a part in IBS. Hypnotherapy is also well documented as an effective method to release long term stress that may have originated many years previously. Lowering stress levels helps the body reduce it’s production of Adrenalin, and it’s bi-product Cortisol, both of which can increase IBS symptoms, as well as having an affect on digestion, blood pressure, sleep patterns and many other physical systems.

Each time you are hypnotised you go deeper and deeper into relaxation so that powerful changes can happen effortlessly and easily. Techniques and hypnotherapy approaches are always in direct response to a your needs but can include dialoguing direct with the sub-conscious mind; turning down or resetting the Amygdala’s fight or flight response from its current hypersensitive levels, as well as including guided meditations and customised hypnotic MP3 recordings for you to listen to at home between sessions.

As well as an experienced Hypnotherapist, I am an accredited Advanced EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and PSTEC (Percussive Suggestion Technique) Practitioner and she includes these therapies in her sessions so that clients can learn these techniques for themselves and have them as tools for life. They are powerful modalities that can be used to gently reveal and release old patterns of thinking and behaviour so that the Hynotherapy element of the therapy can work even more affectively.

There are many relaxation recordings and meditation teaching resources on the market that are designed to help you to reduce your overall stress levels. They can also help you to feel pro-active in the face of an illness that can often feel beyond personal control or influence. Be kind to yourself and if you’ve struggled in the past with expressing your emotions or find it difficult to access your real feelings then try writing them down in a note book. At the very least it may offer you some useful insights into the thinking and beliefs that influence you, plus you may also discover some of those IBS triggers too.

Fees

A course of hypnotherapy with me begins with an obligation free consultation lasting approximately one hour. The consultation is an opportunity to meet and explore the most appropriate therapeutic approach. During this consultation a time-line of your IBS illness is compiled, noting periods of intensity with any correlation with external events. A full case study is also taken involving a more comprehensive exploration of a your life and background. The therapy course is usually six 90 minute sessions over a 6 to 12 week period. The spacing of the sessions is guided by how much support you need and is responsive and flexible. Email, telephone or Skype support can also be provided. The six sessions cost £495 in total which offers a reduction on the single session ratea. During our time together you will also learn powerful skills to resolve stress that turn up in your life so that you are empowered in turn to mange your IBS too. You will learn new ways of thinking and believing in yourself which will work towards powerful shifts in your life.

Make a commitment to yourself by getting in touch today. Click here for my contact form or call me on (+44) 07986 812851 and if I can’t take your call I’ll get back to you within two hours.

Tim Phizackerley, the creator of PSTEC is also the inventor of Magic Sentences.

He introduced me to Magic Sentences a while ago and since I have been incorporating the technique into my therapy practice I’ve been very impressed with the shifts in beliefs and thinking my clients have experienced either during face to face sessions or via Skype.

Magic Sentences is a simple and effective way of getting the subconscious mind to ‘rewind’ issues, beliefs or problems around a specific emotion, belief or even physical symptoms to a point where they no longer exist. Each time you listen and interact with Magic Sentences they are designed to give you as much new and important subconscious programming as possible.

It’s not hypnotherapy and it does not involve tapping so it’s particularly useful as it’s a change in pace and and a very different way of releasing and resolving issues.

Here are a couple of testimonials from recent clients to give you an idea of how rapid and deep the shifts in thinking and believing often are.

A 40 year old executive of an international company presented with debilitating and worsening panic attacks that were impacting on his life in a number of negative ways;

I found Magic Sentences to be a really powerful and game-changing technique. I felt positive and long-lasting effects almost immediately. It has really helped significantly reduce my anxiety to levels below I have ever previously experienced. I would recommend Magic Sentences as a technique to anyone with similar symptoms, the results are truly amazing.

A successful actor, this woman had been carrying stress and anxiety in her body for a long time without real conscious awareness until Magic Sentences changed all of that;

…using the Magic Sentence work, I have become much more aware of my negative, reactive behaviour, and can control it using the simple technique she taught me. This has reduced my stress levels, given me a different, much happier outlook and made me more successful at dealing with both everyday and unexpected situations. And it doesn’t require a huge effort or hours of practice - the method is with you after one session.

Another young woman working again in a competitive field had struggled with self-esteem issues and panicky, over-thinking that could often just escalate and escalate. Here she talks about the role Magic Sentences played in bringing her back to calmness on a very deep level.

…We also did Magic Sentences so that I can deeply understand that I can be happy in myself and calm and in control. I can also do that at home with the recordings that Sally has sent me…

Clients either feedback immediate shifts in their thinking and belief system or sometimes the process has to be given a couple of days for them to fully recognise the changes they experience. I’ve used it with resounding results for physical symptoms such as chronic eczema, life-long asthma, pain associated with Syringa Myalgia, IBS and Fibromyalgia as well as many emotional issued from Anxiety to Weight loss.

I think Magic Sentences sits wonderfully with EFT; other powerful PSTEC techniques including PSTEC Cascade Release, and Hypnotherapy to create effective and profound shifts for my clients. Following Tim’s exacting guide-lines and in close association with the PSTEC Organisation I have composed my own Magic Sentences.

Sally Baker and Liz Hogon have released their new 100+ page e-book on how to collapse self-sabotage, release limiting beliefs and effortlessly and easily embrace your natural weight. The book comes packed with audio visual guidance and resources that are tried and tested in their own therapy practices in London and Melbourne and in the successful work they do all over the world via Skype.

It’s never been about food. It’s never been about a lack of will-power. Achieve Your Natural Weight shows you how to harness the power of Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Percussive Suggestion Technique (PSTEC) and Hypnotherapy to align your greatest desires with the clarity and focus of your sub-conscious mind to allow you to be the person you were always meant to be and to live the life you were always meant to live.

Sally and Liz were recently interviewed by Jeff Harding in Hawaii for the PSTEC Organisation. This one hour interview is available here. They talk about how they use these incredible therapies to help their clients achieve their natural weight and to over-come low self-esteem and a sense of failure. They go on to explain how they work successfully with the complex and profound issues around emotional over-eating and comfort eating.

The end result is often paralysis where we become too fearful to do anything – just like a rabbit caught in the headlights of an on-coming car. It’s simply not helpful.

What is needed is an antidote to all this fear so that we can take a big deep breath, hold our nerve, take considered action and allow in the success and financial well-being that is out there, just waiting for us.

What better way to shift our focus from lack to plenty than the Prosperity Prayer written by the fabulous Mr. Fire himself, Joe Vitale.

If you’ve not come across Joe before, you are in for a treat as he’s been an enlightening source of inspiration, and generous wisdom for many years with his many published books, teachings and on-line blog.

With Joe’s express agreement, Sally Baker has taken his original words and converted them into a powerful EFT Tapping script. Now you have the union of his inspirational words with the power of EFT to go beyond self-limiting negative beliefs, and go straight to the very core of our being, making this a powerful, daily affirmation.

Weight Loss surgery is a major step. It’s often considered as the last ditch attempt for people who have struggled to bring their weight under control.

A man in Newport Pagnall, Berkshire, recently resorted to gastric bypass surgery at London’s Charing Cross Hospital in an effort to lose weight. Tim Daily did lose half his body weight, a total of some 12 stone. However, the after affects of the surgery have had a drastic and potentially life threatening effect on his health.

The number of patients struggling with obesity who submit to drastic, invasive surgical procedures has risen hugely over the last few years. Between 2003/4 there were 480 similar operations, a figure that has ballooned to 4,246 during 2008/9.

Tim Daily’s procedure involved a gastric band to reduce the size of his stomach and a gastric bypass that connects his new stomach pouch to his intestine. Complications with the procedure means he is now unable to eat or drink without massive amounts of pain-killers, and he has to be tube feed to keep him alive.

Tim believes that together with the well-reported success stories of bariatric surgery there are very many similar stories of medical complications and disappointments which just do not get reported in the media.

For Tim’s full story click here for video link to BBC Look East News.

Also, remember there is now a totally viable alternative to surgical intervention that has the same effect as surgery but without the risks, scars and potential health complications. Book a session now to explore the possibilities for you of the highly acclaimed Hypno Gastric Band – harnessing the power of your mind to reduce the size of your stomach. Click here to read more
