			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Sometimes it can seem daunting when you begin tapping on your own.</p>
<p>Below are a couple of suggested set-ups to get you started. You don’t have to use them, especially if other set-ups come to mind that are more pertinent to you.</p>
<p>Ideally tap as often as possible for as long as possible but at least try and set aside a minimum of 10 to 15 minutes a day to sit quietly. Breathe deeply and make sure you have plenty of water to drink. Adequate hydration has often been cited as an aid to energy therapies.</p>
<p>Don’t forget to refer to the E<span style="text-decoration: underline;">FT Tapping Points</span> available on this site to remind you where to tap and what the abbreviations used here all stand for.</p>

<p><em>The work you are doing will already be sending a clear message to your subconscious that change is happening. In response your subconscious – desperate to hang on to old patterns and recognised ways of being &#8211; will be trying to sabotage your best efforts. 		<description><![CDATA[The very act of drinking cans or bottles of soda lull people into thinking the messages their body is sending them can not possibly be about thirst, so they get confused, believe they must be hungry, and eat more instead.]]></description>
			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>From early in life, the body develops a learned response to sweet tastes, and expects a new intake of calories when a sweet taste stimulates the tongue. If this sweet taste is generated by sugar then at least some of the brains needs for sugar are satisfied.</p>
<p>However, if it’s an artificial sweetener such as Aspartame which was introduced into the beverage industry in the early ‘80s the outcome for the body is quite different. As we already know, the sweet taste stimulates the tongue, and the brain then programmes the liver to prepare to accept new energy from outside. In anticipation, the liver stops manufacturing sugar from the body’s protein and starch reserves, storing them instead. In the case of artificial sweeteners, the sweet taste doesn’t deliver any convertible nutrients, so the brain sends out a hunger message to compel the person to acquire nutrients/calories from elsewhere – hence the desire to eat. Research has shown that this urge to eat more food after consuming artificial sweeteners can last up to 90 minutes!</p>
<p>The thirst quenching properties of all soda drinks requires a closer look too. As well as Aspartame, a high number of sodas also include caffeine which is a diuretic as well as a direct brain stimulant. This means soda drinks with caffeine are physiologically a dehydrating agent. This is one of the reasons why so many cans are consumed every day and thirst is never quenched. The water doesn’t stay in the body long enough for adequate hydration. And, the very act of drinking so many cans or bottles of soda lull people into thinking the messages their body is sending them can not possibly be about thirst, so they get confused, believe they must be hungry, and eat more instead.</p>
<p>Dr F.Batmanghelidj, in his best selling book, <em>Your Body’s Many Cries for Water</em> is convinced that the long tem use of sodas in general, and diet sodas in particular, should be assumed to be responsible for some of the more serious health problems of our society.</p>
<p>The only way to naturally quench thirst is by drinking life sustaining water. It complicates and confuses matters if one substitutes artificial, taste-enhanced fluids on a regular basis for the water needs of a healthy body.</p>

This is an opportunity to spend a concentrated amount of time using EFT within a group situation to refresh and enhance skills; introduce additional Meridian Energy Therapy (MET) Techniques and if necessary to remind us all how magical and wonderful EFT can be to produce lasting change &#8211; effortlessly and painlessly!<br />
The ethos behind the group is very much about continuing personal development by using, and fine-tuning EFT and the wonderful Meridian Energy Therapies to their best effect.<br />

However, please do bear in mind that the EFT Open Group is not designed to undertake particularly distressing, or deep therapeutic work. Issues with a high emotional charge are ideally worked upon in a one to one therapeutic session. <p style="text-align: left;">Do make sure that you ask empowering questions – disempowering questions (such as ‘Why am I such a loser?’) tell us that we can’t do anything right.  We always manifest what we focus on so therefore if we ask negative questions, we get negative results.  Do ensure that your Afformations are always positive and the results can be amazing.  After each Afformation repeat the word ‘Yes’ about 10 times.  Use the Afformations often during the day and you should notice a change within 14 days.</p>
