How Chronic Stress Can Disrupt a Women’s Fertility

A recent systematic review found that women experiencing infertility often have higher cortisol levels than their fertile counterparts. The authors of the review describe cortisol dysregulation as a clear pattern within infertility research rather than a secondary observation. Another study observed that both perceived stress and the biological markers of stress indicated poorer IVF outcomes. These findings mirror what many women sense intuitively. When life becomes overwhelming or emotionally charged, cycles change, symptoms shift, and the body feels out of rhythm.

The relationship between stress and fertility is not imaginary. It is measurable.
